What happens when at the Sarnia Courthouse

Mondays

8:30am, Courtroom 301- video remands (if the person is in jail and doesn’t have a plan for bail they will appear on a video screen in this courtroom)

9:30am, Courtroom 301- First calls- OPP -if you were arrested by the OPP- think Petrolia, Corunna, Wyoming etc, you will be given a MONDAY court date when you are released. Arrive ready to appear for 9:30am. If it is your first time appearing in court- you will just be speaking to the matter.

10am, Courtroom 303, 302- Trials & sentencing

10:30am, Courtroom 301- Bail Court (note- this rarely starts on time. But be there for 10:30 especially if you want to bail someone out and act as their surety- see post February 4th, 2016 for more info)

Tuesdays

8:30am, Courtroom 301- video remands

9:30am, Courtroom 301- First calls- Sarnia Police -if you are arrested by the Sarnia Police- you will be given a TUESDAY court date when you are released. Arrive ready to go for 9:30am. If it is your first time appearing in court- you will just be speaking to the matter.

10am, Courtroom 303, 302- Trials and sentencing

Wednesdays

8:30am, Courtroom 301- Video remands

9:30am, Courtroom 301- First calls- DRUG OFFENCES -if you are arrested and charged with a drug offence you will be given a WEDNESDAY court date. Arrive ready to go for 9:30am. If it is your first time appearing in court- you will just be speaking to the matter.

10am- Courtroom 302, 303- Trials and sentencing

10:30am, Courtroom 301- Bail Court (note- this rarely starts on time. But be there for 10:30 especially if you want to bail someone out and act as their surety- see post February 4th, 2016 for more info)

Thursdays: 8:30am, Courtroom 301- video remands

9:30am, Courtroom 301- Youth matters. If you are under the age of 18 and you get arrested, you will be given a THURSDAY court date. Arrive ready to go for 9:30am with a parent or guardian.If it is your first time appearing in court- you will just be speaking to the matter.

10am, Courtroom 302- Bail Court- This WILL start on time.. Be there for 9:30 especially if you want to bail someone out and act as their surety- see post February 4th, 2016 for more info.
